Library Sessions in your courses

The Roskilde University Library wishes to support and contribute to RUC’s different educations by offering to integrate Library courses in the students’ general education. The Library can offer highly skilled educators in the fields of, for instance, literature search, AI use, reference management or data management to assist or run a session in your course. We can offer both more general and specialized sessions tailored to your course and teach at bachelor, master, master thesis and Ph.D. level.

For more information, please contact the library here.

Suggestions for purchase

The University Library relies on researchers to help update and maintain the relevance of our collection. Please suggest a purchase of a book, journal or other e-resources here.

Deep Links

When you want to give your students access to literature for a course we recommend that you use so-called deep links to all of the available e-resources. There are two ways of creating deep links that can be used for the course literature in Moodle:

  1. If you have the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) you can make a direct link to the article.
  2. For e-books, find the book via soeg.kb.dk and type in the e-book link.

Make deep links in the library’s deep link generator here.

Copyright when teaching

As an educator, you must be aware of copyrights to avoid violating them. Different rules apply to digital and physical materials. You can find the current agreements between RUC and Copydan here. In case there are specific agreement licenses, they will have precedence.

For more information see the Libguide on Copyright here, or reach out to the Library Research Support team at RUB-ophavsret@kb.dk.

Zotero Reference Manager

Zotero is a tool that helps collect, organize, cite and share research material and references. With Zotero you can generate bibliographies and citations in Microsoft Word og OpenOffice. Furthermore, Zotero enables you to annotate documents and search your entire Zotero collection.

Read more in our guide here or sign up for one of the library’s free courses in Zotero.

Course literature in Moodle

The Library’s research support team can assist and guide members of the academic staff, who wish to make course literature available at moodle.ruc.dk. Special rules on copyright apply. If the materials are print versions read our LibGuide on copyrights here. Using materials that are born digital such as e-books and e-articles is more straightforward. Below you can get an overview of the electronic material already available to you.
