ORCID, Researcher ID, Scopus Author ID (tba), Google Scholar

ORCID Flowchart

ORCID for external employments

ORCID can only be synchronized from one Pure installation at a time.

If you are employed at another Danish research institution that uses Pure, and your ORCID is set up to synchronize from there - you cannot set it up  from RUC too.

If you would like to change the integration to run from RUC's Pure, the other integration must be shut down first.

What is ORCID?

ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) is a permanent identification number linking researchers and research correctly.
ORCID assigns a unique identification number to each researcher, which distinguishes between two different people with the same name and collects publications written by the same person, published under different name variations.
Once you have linked your research to your ORCID, you can document your research simply by informing your ORCID. This facilitates administrative work around applications - not only for you, but also for the granting authority.

Import publications from ORCID to Pure

If you have publications in ORCID that you would like to transfer to Pure, you can find instructions for doing this below.

Why ORCID?

You may already have created an ORCID? But is it also in Pure?
If not, many of the processes that deal with automatic transfer of metadata of e.g. publications, but eventually also other types of research related content are made more difficult. By creating an ORCID and linking it to Pure, you can help Roskilde University Library to find your publications in external databases more easily and import them into Pure, without you having to do anything. Consequently it will be easier for you to maintain complete publication overviews, and ensure that the bibliometric analyses carried out will be more correct.
If you have an ORCID and use it actively, you also minimize the risk of your publications being confused with those of others in, among other things, citation databases.
